Coast redwoods more than three hundred feet tall stand over the South Fork of the Eel, part of the national Wild and Scenic River system. Swimming holes, camping and a remote feel for a park on the highway.

Day Use is open year-round dawn to dusk.
Campgrounds including Huckleberry, Madrone, and Dawn Redwood Group Camp fully reopen a week before Memorial Day weekend as sites become reservable. The last night to camp in Huckleberry and Dawn Redwood is the Sunday of Labor Day weekend.
Madrone Campground is open between 9/2 to 5/24 (off season) as walk in only w/self-registration available at park entrance (cash/check only). Closures can be predicted w/hazardous weather w/wind speed over 55mph.
