Portions of Elkhead Trail in Trinidad State Beach are closed, specifically all of College Cove access trail from the intersection at Elkhead Loop Trail and the far western end of the Elkhead Bluff Trail. These trail closures are due to erosion that has made sections of these trails inaccessible. Other popular trails within Trinidad State Beach will remain open during this closure.

Parks trail crew will begin to work on repairing these portions of the trail system in April 2024, in order to ensure that work is completed after the rainy season. Pedestrians found utilizing the closed portions of trails will be subject to citation per District Superintendent's Closure Order. Posted Monday, April 22, 2024
