About Morrison-Rockwood State Park Lake Carlton, a stream-fed reservoir built in 1969 behind a 38-foot dam, is the focus of 1,164 acres north of Morrison. Ducks and geese crowd the water and the fishing is well regarded; a blacksmith's Illinois-shaped sign greets you at the gate.
