About Landsford Canal State Park

The well-preserved remains of the canal that made the Catawba River navigable from 1820 to 1835, and the largest known stand of rocky shoals spider lilies, in bloom from mid-May to mid-June. A 1.5-mile trail follows the canal past nesting bald eagles.
