June 13, 2026 - New world screwworm has been found in parts of Texas. Check your pets and livestock often. If you see unusual wounds or maggots, do not move the animal. Call the Texas Animal Health Commission at (800) 550‑8242 or contact a private veterinarian. For wildlife with suspicious wounds or maggots, notify park staff or call (512) 389‑4505. Boating Notices June 25, 2025 - Due to very low lake levels: Exercise extra caution when operating watercraft on the lake. We recommend only using kayaks or bank fishing. The following boat ramps are closed: South Shore Hwy. 99 Mason Point Calliham Unit Closures The South Shore unit will be closed on the following dates: 5 p.m. on Nov. 30 to 10 p.m. on Dec. 3 The Calliham unit will be closed on the following dates: 5p.m. on Jan. 4 to 10 p.m. Jan. 8 Only permitted hunters will be allowed on these dates. Check back for updates or contact the park for more information.
