June 10, 2026 - The 600 loop at Walnut Ridge will be closed for repairs July 13-15. May 28, 2026 - The boat ramp on the Hen House side of the park will be closed for the remainder of 2026. We expect it to reopen in January 2027. April 7, 2026 - The 100 and 200 camping loops, restrooms and fish cleaning station at the Hen House Ridge Unit are closed for a construction project. The Hen House day-use area remains open. Check back for updates.
A maze of cypress-swamp paddling trails where the Neches and Angelina rivers meet. Canoe through mossy sloughs, hike the forest trails of the Big Thicket, and watch for wildlife from the boardwalks.
