A town on the old Southwest Trail where blacksmith James Black forged the legendary Bowie knife and Arkansas' Confederate government sat from 1863 to 1865. The 1874 courthouse opens the state's largest collection of 19th-century buildings, and you can stay the night in the Jailhouse Bed & Breakfast.
