Posted Jun 30, 2026 - In effect until further notice, including Golden Gate Canyon State Park, due to extreme fire danger, high temperatures and worsening dry conditions. Road Paving Posted Mar 25, 2026 - Colorado Department of Transportation will be paving Highway 46 through the park from Aug.-Oct. Expect delays. Starting July 20, 2026 Gilpin County will be paving a section of Crawford Gulch Road. Travelers should expect delays, as alternating one-way traffic and traffic control will be in effect.
Twelve thousand acres of high mountain meadow, streamside corridor, rocky peak and dense forest within an hour of Denver. Over 35 miles of trail connect them, and stays range from the family campground at Reverend's Ridge to yurts, cabins and bare backcountry sites.
