Douglas County Stage 2 Fire Restrictions Posted Jul 2, 2026 - Effective until further notice: Open burning of any kind, use of fireworks (including professional firework displays), use of fires in chimneys, portable fireplaces and patio fire pits, campfires at developed campgrounds or picnic areas, and use of model rockets are PROHIBITED.
Set where the plains meet the foothills southwest of Denver, this 5,381-acre park wraps a reservoir where boats, horses, bikes and even model airplanes each have their own ground. All 197 campsites have electric hookups, and nearly 33 miles of trail follow the Platte River valley.
