About Heidecke Lake State Fish & Wildlife Area

More than 1,300 acres of prime fishing water, built in 1978 as a cooling lake and leased to the state ever since. It opens each April 1 and closes ten days before waterfowl season; boat fishing shuts down when winds top 25 mph.
