June 13, 2026 - New world screwworm has been found in parts of Texas. Check your pets and livestock often. If you see unusual wounds or maggots, do not move the animal. Call the Texas Animal Health Commission at (800) 550‑8242 or contact a private veterinarian. For wildlife with suspicious wounds or maggots, notify park staff or call (512) 389‑4505. Park Closed July 17, 2026 - The park is closed due to flooding on the park road. Area roads are also flooded. Check road conditions before traveling. Trail Closure May 31, 2026 - The 0.16-mile trail connecting River Trail and Buck Lake Trail is closed due a downed tree. Construction Notice June 10, 2026 - Utility construction is underway in the park. Expect noise, construction traffic on the roadways, and possible road or lane closures. Check back for updates.
