About Escalante Petrified Forest State Park

Nature trails climb through a petrified forest above Wide Hollow Reservoir, built in 1954 to irrigate the town of Escalante and now stocked with rainbow trout and bluegill. Camp, swim or take a paddleboard out — and leave the petrified wood where it lies.

$10 per vehicle — Day-use fee: $10 per vehicle $5 Utah resident seniors 62 and older Commercial groups $5 per person. Special rates for School field trips can be negotiated by calling the park and speaking to the Park Manager. Ask about the Utah State Parks Annual Pass. Standard sites: $30 per night. Loop A Partial hookup sites: $40 (water and electric hookups) Loop A $15 to use the dump station. This is not included in camping fees. $60 $30 A second camping unit is charged at $15 per night upon arrival. Second vehicles may need to be parked in the day use parking overnight if they wont fit in the campsite. Non
