The River Road bridge in Farmville, that connects the downtown section of trail to the High Bridge, will be rebuilt. This will close the trail from Main Street heading east to Osborne Road from July 6 through August.

The Visitor Center is currently closed for the installation of new exhibits. The 3rd Street parking lot on the west side of Farmville will close permanently on Aug. 3.
A 32-mile rail trail with a level, crushed-limestone surface, open to walking, cycling and horseback riding. Its centerpiece is High Bridge — 2,400 feet long and 125 feet above the Appomattox River, the longest such bridge in Virginia.
