About Staunton River Battlefield State Park

Where roughly 700 Confederate old men and boys held a strategic bridge against 5,000 Union cavalry while Lee's army was besieged at Petersburg. Walk the earthworks and bridge trail, or the nature trail to two observation towers.

The park is open from 8 a.m. to dusk. The Clover Visitor Center is open Saturday- Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Roanoke Station Visitor Center is closed for renovation.
