About Stephen A. Forbes State Recreation Area A large lake with 18 miles of shoreline sits in 3,103 acres of oak and hickory, with swimming off sandy Rocky Point Beach. Named for the pioneering natural scientist, it handles fishing, hiking, volleyball and a night at Oak Ridge Campground.
