North Carolina State Park
A 315-foot freestanding spire above Hickory Nut Gorge and Lake Lure, reached by elevator or on foot, with a hike out to Hickory Nut Falls. The fee-based Chimney Rock attraction holds the exhibits and shops; the free Rumbling Bald access stays rugged.

April–October: 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
December: 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
