North Carolina State Park
A 325-foot remnant of a range that towered 350 million years ago, now laced with trails for hikers, bikers, and horses. Fish Little Fishing Creek or picnic in the open meadow; Lewis' heartleaf and the Neuse River waterdog live here.
Free entry — There are no fees required to access Medoc Mountain State Park for day use. Fees are charged for camping, certain event permits, and facility reservations.
January–February: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
March–May: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
June–August: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
September–October: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
November–December: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The park is open during all other holidays.
Open every day except Christmas Day, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
