June 13, 2026 - New world screwworm has been found in parts of Texas.
Check your pets and livestock often. If you see unusual wounds or maggots, do not move the animal. Call the Texas Animal Health Commission at (800) 550‑8242 or contact a private veterinarian.
For wildlife with suspicious wounds or maggots, notify park staff or call (512) 389‑4505.
Park Closure
July 17, 2026 - The park is closed July 17 through July 20, 2026 for cleanup after heavy rains and flooding.
Park Information
The park is open from 8 a.m. Fridays through 4:30 p.m. Mondays. It is closed the rest of the week.
We do not have trash service. You must take your trash when you leave.

About Kickapoo Cavern State Park

A wild underground world of massive columns and cave formations, plus a summer roosting site for thousands of bats. Explore the cavern on a guided tour, hike through rugged limestone hills, and watch the evening bat flight.
