Stage 2 Fire Restrictions: NO OPEN FIRES OF ANY KIND — including fires within an established fire pit, charcoal grills, pellet grills, or ash-producing fuel. Properly shielded gas or liquid-fueled portable camp stoves with a shut-off valve are allowed, so long as there is at least three feet in diameter that is barren with no flammable vegetation. A small park on the rim of a canyon 1,000 feet above one of the most striking entrenched river meanders in North America. The San Juan River travels six miles of bends to advance a mile and a half west, cut over 300 million years.
