About Lake Norman State Park

The Itusi Trail's nearly 31 miles of single-track make this the region's mountain biking destination, along about 17 miles of shoreline on the state's largest manmade lake. Park Lake, held back by a dam, keeps quieter water for fishing and paddling.

Free entry — There are no fees required to access Lake Norman State Park for day use, except for boat rentals and swim passes. Fees are also charged for camping, certain event permits, and facility reservations.

Hours

January–February: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

March–April: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

May–August: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

September–October: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

November–December: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The park is open during all other holidays.
