About Stone Mountain State Park

A 600-foot granite dome designated a National Natural Landmark, with the restored mid-19th-century Hutchinson Homestead at its base. Waterfalls, winding creeks, and trout streams fill the high country, and the Mountains-to-Sea State Trail passes the backcountry sites.

Entrance fee

Free entry — There are no fees required to access Stone Mountain State Park for day use. Fees are also charged for camping, group climbing, certain event permits, and facility reservations.

Hours

January–February: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

March–April: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

May–August: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

September–October: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

November–December: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The park is open during all other holidays.

From December to February, open Monday to Friday only, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

From March to November, open daily, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
