North Carolina State Park
A main access at Mayo Mountain with hiking trails, fishing ponds, a picnic shelter, and a group campsite. Four river accesses put paddlers onto Class II rapids, and Deshazo Mill adds a waterfall on Fall Creek.
Free entry — There are no fees required to access Mayo River State Park for day use. Fees are charged for camping, certain event permits, and facility reservations.
January–February: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
March–April: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
May–August: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
September–October: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
November–December: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The park is open during all other holidays.
